The mission of MOME is to provide answers to the pressing challenges of the 21st century with design-based learning, research, and applied mastery. We see our mission as serving our communities, spreading design consciousness and contributing to the sophistication of the local and regional economic and cultural ecosystems. MOME is a university for artists, designers, creators and innovators who are committed to break the mold of mediocrity. We focus on taking a whole person approach via mentoring and creating a value-driven arts and design ecosystem in the CEE (Central and Eastern Europe) region. Over the past 30 years, the university has built close partnerships with European academic institutions, implemented international education and research projects, sought to maximise participation by faculty and staff in mobility programmes both within and outside the EU, and become a member of several international professional networks.
